Are you motivated enough to tell your brothers, sisters, mothers, fathers, children, friends, neighbors, and co-workers about Jesus? What would it take for you to tell them? Our Senior Pastor gave a message today that reached deep into my heart and I have not stopped thinking about it ever since. His message today was part 2 of “Is Heaven for Real” and part 3 will be next week. The part that moved me deeply was based on the scripture passage, Luke 16:19-31, the Parable of the Rich Man and Lazarus.
These last couple of months God has burdened my heart with this one particular person who if Jesus came back right now she would go to a lost eternity. As Pastor was reading Luke 16:27-31, today my heart became extremely sorrowful that I have not been able to reach this person with the Gospel.
Luke 16:27-31 says this;
27 “Then the rich man said, ‘Please, Father Abraham, at least send him to my father’s home. 28 For I have five brothers and I want him to warn them so they don’t end up in this place of torment.’
29 “But Abraham said, ‘Moses and the prophets have warned them. Your brothers can read what they wrote.’
30”The rich man replied, ‘No Father Abraham! But if someone is sent to them from the dead, then they will repent of their sins and turn to God.’
31”But Abraham said, ‘If they won’t listen to Moses and the prophets, they won’t listen even if someone rises from the dead.”
How’s that for motivation? I don’t know about you but for me, it was a reality check with the urgency of reaching lost souls for Jesus. It is His will that none should perish and that all be saved. I know the word coming from my lips does not work for her but that’s not to say she won’t listen to someone else speaking the Gospel. What I’m saying is don’t give up if one way doesn’t work then try another and just maybe I’m not the one who will lead her to the Lord. I have completely surrendered her to the Lord and I am praying for divine interventions in her life. My heart may be sorrowful now but my hope is in the Lord now and forever!
I think Psalm 126:5-6, says it best;
5 Those who plant in tears will harvest with shouts of joy. 6 They weep as they go to plant their seed, but they sing as they return with the harvest.
So let me ask you this, are you motivated enough to plant some seeds for Jesus?!
The Light Within
Why can you not look at me?
Why is this?
Are you not my kin?
The best is right here within.
I wish you could see
With who holds the key.
It is His light
That shines so bright
For, He is my rock
The one who has unlocked
My heart with His light.
Oh, please don’t depart—
Just a glimpse within
Because you are my kin.
Please let me share what’s within.
The Light Within is touching, beautiful!
