Tear Filled Hallelujahs

God has been speaking to me for the last couple of weeks about keeping my focus on Him especially in the midst of a storm.  There are so many people watching and waiting to see how I handle a crisis as a Christian.  Can she be Christ-like in that storm?  I’ve had some storms in my life where my “feelings(flesh)” soooooo did not want to be Christ-like. I thank God, for this is when my precious brothers and sisters in Christ prayed me through the harshest part of the storm.

Psalm 56:8-13 (NLT)

You keep track of all my sorrows.   You have collected all my tears in your bottle.  You have recorded each one in your book.

My enemies will retreat when I call to you for help. This I know: God is on my side! 10 I praise God for what he has promised;  yes, I praise the Lord for what he has promised. 11 I trust in God, so why should I be afraid?   What can mere mortals do to me?

12 I will fulfill my vows to you, O God, and will offer a sacrifice of thanks for your help. 13 For you have rescued me from death; you have kept my feet from slipping. So now I can walk in your presence, O God, in your life-giving light.

I admit there were days in some of my storms where I let my “feelings/flesh” take over, I have to say not my best moments.  Learning to look and focus on Him is what helped soothe my spirit.  In my strength it was impossible to remain Christ-like but in His strength I can strive to be Christ-like!  Amen!

I want to share a poem I wrote which is in the form of a “Bop.”

Pastor J of Lillie-Put is the founder of C.cada (Cornerstone Christian Artist Day Apart) and we were given a group writing exercise about a month ago.  C.cada is a community for Christian artists to get together and practice their art work whether it be writing, painting, pencil drawings, water-color,  photography, wood carving, musical/instrumental, fabric art, etc.   He challenged us to write a “Bop” which is a new poetic form for most of  the artists in C.cada.  This is my second Bop I have written.  If you want to see more “Bops” from our C.cada artists you will find them over at Lillie-Put .

Tear Filled Hallelujahs

You hardly notice the change

sports on in there

reading over there

slowly, the cord unravels

one strand at a time

broken, feeling defeated, still hanging on

Here comes the thunder, lightening, and torrential rains; so hard to respond when you want to react.  Crying out through tear filled hallelujahs.

No one knows what happens

behind these doors of ours

yelling, arguing, cursing, accusing,

inexcusable acts of betrayal, slamming of doors

he said; she said

smiling and saying Hi as we walk the aisles

distant, barely touching

silence all around

Here comes the thunder, lightening, and torrential rains; so hard to respond when you want to react.  Crying out through tear filled hallelujahs.

Don’t leave

we can fix this

praying in this brokenness

meeting with Pastor

hard work ahead

restoration through Him

Here comes the thunder, lightening, and torrential rains; so hard to respond when you want to react. Crying out tear filled hallelujahs.
