Training for Reigning

My pastor often says are you training for reigning? So are you in training? Are your spiritual ears and eyes open? You need to be on guard, for the enemy is always lurking around ready to pounce in a moment’s notice.

This is one of the scriptures the Lord keeps bringing to my mind;

Psalm 144 (NLT)

A psalm of David.

Praise the Lord, who is my rock.

    He trains my hands for war

    and gives my fingers skill for battle.

He is my loving ally and my fortress,

    my tower of safety, my rescuer.

He is my shield, and I take refuge in him.

    He makes the nations[a] submit to me.

I don’t know about you but for me the enemy seems to be around every corner I turn. No sooner do I come up for air from the last attack another one is right there waiting for me to engage in battle. Sometimes I laugh because the evil one thinks he has me fooled into thinking he is in control of my destiny when I know without a doubt my Lord, Jesus Christ has my back covered the whole time.   My son and I get attacked quite often and sometimes we laugh at just how many times the enemy does attack. Don’t get me wrong I am not taking these spiritual attacks lightly by any means but my laughter often comes when my son says,

“Mom, doesn’t the enemy already know we have VICTORY with God and that he will never win? And besides it’s just so funny that the biggest ‘Deceiver’ is deceiving himself, now that is funny, Mom!”

As a person I am so grateful that someone loved me enough to introduce me to my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ and as a mom I am grateful my son knows our Lord as his Savior as well. The best part is we get to train together for the day when we get to join our Lord, Jesus Christ when He returns to reign forever! Amen!

How is the Lord preparing you for the days ahead? Are you in training?

  1. I am in some of the biggest training ever in my Christian life Deb. Battle is at hand. What we are looking at is no small skirmish but a full scale battle. The lines are drawn.

  2. Debbie says:

    Thank you, Deb! You and your son inspire me so much! God is training me how to be merciful. Guess that doesn’t sound like an instrument of war, but I’ll leave that to Him! God bless you!

    Will you agree to enter a season of training.
